Disney Animatronics - Chapter Three

This 20 minutes is the reason I wanted to make this video, so I hope it's your kind of thing. Please give it a watch and let me know if there are any errors/ommissions/typos and what you thought (without using words like boring or unnecessary). I realize you probably did a lot of research to find the tech from Polaris. My grandfather worked on inertial measurement systems for ICBM and space craft guidance. Forgive me for speculating here but I doubt that the tech was 14 track tape because I doubt tape decks were used in Polaris. This should stand out at people from just a first principles standpoint because the vehicles whole trip happens to fast for a tape to be played back to be useful. So at best the Polaris tech would have to have enabled making a smaller 14 track tape deck. IMHO (massive grain of salt) it's more likely that they were using early integrated circuits to replace vacuum tubes, resolvers to refine the positioning, or something else to remove drift from each cycle or the bulk of vacuum tubes.

Thanks for changing the solenoid. It's more accurate now. The graphic at 15:47 shows the exciting coil oriented horizontally but all the examples you have photos of are vertically.

You know it's gonna be a banger Defunctland video when you see the black and white animations detailing complex phenomena. This is a perfect way to bridge Chapters Two and Four and include the Enchanted Tiki Room before talking about the Presidents attraction.

This past Saturday I accompanied my girlfriend to her holiday party which took place in the Rochester Memorial Art Gallery where I personally saw one of the Abraham Lincoln life casts. I thought it was impressive, now i learn there is at least 74 other casts made of his face
