Sandstone floors provide textured ground for caves
🕑 Added 2024-10-31 19:19:39 +0000 UTCNext up we have our sandstone floors. I can't tell you how excited I am about these tiles. All of the above were printed with the rock PLA, and I think they look fantastic. Every print is varied. I recommend printing a plate's worth of tiles per print. You’ll use more of the roll, creating more banding and maximizing the rock-like appearance on the final piece. If you’re using a slicer that can optimize for detail (banbu/orca/prusa can all do variable layer height), it's worth it.
They look great in person. I couldn't be happier with how the filament interacted with the cracks in the rocks.
Instructions
Print these tiles in Overture Rock (Fossil) PLA and Overture Rock (Sedimentary) PLA or similar banded filament. I suggest printing many connected walls at the same time for two reasons. 1) The banding changes faster than if you print one at a time, making it easier to see transitions than if you print one at a time. 2) It means that all the sections have the same banding, so they flow well together.
