The betrayal I think we all knew was coming but that was far darker then I was expecting given the tone of the show.

I agree theres no way he's evil, he's just in it for himself! Having a change of heart and rescuing the kids will be yet another great 80s trope

I don't think Jod is evil, I mean, he is a pirate, but he is no more evil than Hondo. He could've kill the kids but didn't and asked her to yield. I think he'll come back and save the kids, like when he was about to leave Wim but came back. Also, I think he was a padawan during order 66, he doesn't sound like he learned the Force by himself, he had some pieces of jedi philosophy (it's 9ABY so it fits)
