Avatar Customizations and sharing character ID's...

One cool feature of TykeAI is creating your own custom character.
You can create a character on the Convai website (a free account works), copy the character ID and paste it into TykeAI. This will make an existing avatar in the app (like Yumi) adopt all your custom characters details like name, voice, languages spoken, personality, backstory, life history, knowledge, etc etc.
A Patreon member recently asked if there are existing character IDs from others to try which I think is a great idea. If you have any character IDs you'd like to share, please do!
Here's one I quickly created on the Convai website, I used ChatGPT to help me fill in the details, she is Maya Lopez, an architect from Spain (please see the image for details):

To use her in the app, paste the above character ID into the app's avatar customization user interface, you can access this user interface by selecting the button at the bottom of the first in app menu, the menu button says "Add Your Character ID".

ProTip 2 - With the game open and using passthrough to look at the Convai website, you can add details in real time to your custom avatar. This is really useful if you want to see how her voice sounds for example or you want to add specific interests. Just make the edits, then press UPDATE on the webpage.

No problem Alan, yeh I stick to the defaults most of the time but it's fun to switch things up sometimes, and by the way I have an idea how I can get things like the image analysis working with custom characters, and the other little things that don't carry over π

Thanks Chris, I thought that was the case & it's fun providing your own info. I switch between my setup & yours, my default is your setting most of the time.

Hi Alan, at the moment the character ID is always active as long as it is enabled in the avatar customization user interface, so it will apply to any avatar in the app that you spawn in with. You can disable it in the avatar customization user interface (press "Disable") if you don't want the default avatars to take on the custom character setup (the character ID is still present but the app ignores it). I plan to be able to enter several character ID's and choose which avatar they apply to π

Hi Chris, I did customize Hanna with my own information & it works great. I did notice Mervin & all others have the same info. I think it is funny using Mervin with Hanna's voice. How do I select only one Avatar. Thanks for the great APP.

Hi Sir, yeh I mostly use the default setups to be honest, having the option to alter their personality, life history etc, is nice though I think, I know some people do use it to good effect π

ProTIP which might not be obvious. But, you can get something like copilot to come up with an interesting character description for you once you feed in some basic details of what you want.

I was initially intrigued and wanted to develop my own variance including physical characteristics as such a complete rewrite avatar of my own. However, after using TykeAI for multiple months iv found I'm enjoying more and more the current avatars most recently Jen,Hannah and Yumi. I haven't spent time with the males and although a small amount of time with the fantasy females and basically no time with the extraterrestrial. Also I am sure I would regret significant changes to the 3 which I originally mentioned. I hope others will speak about their experiences trying this.

The custom character you apply will be whatever character ID is currently entered in the app, and it applies to whichever default character you choose in the app. If you want to apply a different custom character then you'll need to update the character ID.

Hi Roy, yep, it will be applied to the avatar you choose at the first menu.

Cheers Phil! Yep I just hope some people are brave enough to put their character ID's out there! Mine are out there because the setups of the avatars in the app is my work with a little bit of help from AI for 2 or 3 of the avatars to pad things out. So yeh I hope we get a contribution or 2, those Convai one's are a bit boring!!!! There's no limits on how they are setup as long as they are legal, they can be adult, sexy, funny, silly, normal, serious, language teachers, mentors, friends, lovers, anything really, oh I think swearing in the setup might not work either π
