i dont see anyone else explaining this really specific detail, so i'll do it myself. kekkei genkai literally, like in japanese, means bloodline technique. kekkei, 血継, blood succession, the word for bloodlines in japanese, and genkai, 限界, limited or bound. together the people in naruto are explicitly saying "limited by bloodline." japanese fun fact corner over!

youre dead on about neji, his taijutsu and bykugan kinda made him op. But dont get me wrong, Guy is his sensei for a reason. i like to believe that grown neji would end up surpassing his sensei, becuase of guy being such a G/good sensei

So, Yamanaka, Akimichi, and Nara techniques are not kekkei genkai. They are simply hijutsu, super secret techniques taught by the clan. They can't as easily be copied because they use a form of chakra control that's more difficult. Another example is that Byakugan is kekkei genkai, but gentle fist isn't. it's just that without Byakugan, using gentle fist to it's full extent is impossible

Ron is just terrible with explaining things because whenever you ask him questions in response to his answers, he starts getting confused himself. Kekkai Genkai are abilities that are passed down genetically(aka clan exclusive unless science is applied).

So to explain better for you Brandon, a Kekki Genkai are special jutsu abilities and traits that only exist in certain clans. Also they can not be learned or copied, you have to be of that clan to be able to use a certain clans Kekkai Genkai. there is multiple clans throughout the series that possess Kekkei Genkai bloodline traits. Such as The Hyuga clan, the Uchiha clan, Haku's clan, also even Shikamaru's, Choji's and Ino's are Kekkai Genkai, now you are learning of another with Kimmimaro

Brandon, its important to remember that if multiple battles are happening simultaneously, something that this show does is that while ONE battle is being shown, the others go into "Anime Time". Think back to the Third Hokage Vs Orochimaru on the roof. It felt like they were there forever because Naruto started fighting Gaara, so the show waited for THAT battle to end, then it concluded them both. So if you ever feel that a battle is dragging on, that's why. The fight was probably quicker, but we're seeing other things happen at the same time.

Also ron didn’t explain it well but Kekkei genKai is just a TERM for “passed down ability” it’s just a word that they created in that universe for that. Doesn’t mean it’s something that they had that mutated. Kind of like saying someone has a last name. Uchiha is their last name. Hyuga is their last name. Kaguya is kimimaro’s last name. Last name isn’t a special ability, it’s just the name for something passed down through families
