I started Typhoon Family so I can fit in and also because I really do want to deep dive IMF crisis. My youngest has gotten super obsessed with dramas too so I’m also going to be following her lead this weekend as she makes a new choice (she watched Love, Untangled 5 times in a row and I’ve suggested she keep exploring lol). I also have been signing bookplates for my upcoming release (shameless plug for The E.M.M.A Effect out Dec 2) and needed something low stakes to watch. This launched me on a new hyper fixation of watching every Run BTS episode in order.
My husband was like why have you crashed on the couch the last two nights? Me: ummm I fell asleep to BTS on YouTube again.
I’m not sorry.

I am really curious about this drama - thanks so much Paige. And I don't think I have seen Cho Seung Woo in anything, I must rectify this!

For Katie and the QUEEN SEON DEOK group - I am thoroughly enjoying Horse Doctor aka King's Doctor with Lee Yo Won from Queen Seon Deok who is the FL with Cho Seung Woo as the ML. They have wonderful chemistry together and I'm blown away by the sheer briiance of Cho Seung Woo's acting. I loved him in Stranger but his range in Horse Doctor is master-class.

I finished Jdrama THE FULL-TIME WIFE ESCAPIST last night and wanted to share a bit more about it. It’s one of these sweet simple low drama shows that also have some deep things to say about relationships, gender dynamics and paid/unpaid labor. But in such a gentle way. None of the characters have a major trauma which is a refreshing change. If you need a soothing show I recommend it. There are silly game show vignettes of their imagination, FYI if this bothers you. It’s only 11 episodes, most under 45 minutes. UPDATE: There’s a 2 hour special season 2, now on my watch list! Yep, it’s a lot like Because This is My First Life, different enough to keep it interesting. The second couple arc is unique, rarely seen … Plus it’s got a lovely arc for the gay characters. Yep. there’s lots of miscommunication or actually lack of communication, annoying and cringey but the FL/ML are so huggable you forgive and keep rooting for them. The ML is an introvert with low self esteem.There’s a poignant moment where he is processing how this affects the FL. She’s been exceedingly gentle/cautious with him and he’s realizing his self protection might be hurting her. Yes this is a similar dynamic we see but for some reason it’s particularly juicy and satisfying in this show.
