yes! we didn't realize at the time, which can be the downfall of reacting live sometimes haha! but yes, marcus is incredibly manipulate. π‘

i know i'm really late to the party here - but the scene with marcus and simon outside, when marcus is on the quad bike - simon is basically there to tell him it's over and marcus manipulates him by using his dad as an poor role model example, which had nothing to do with him. the forced hugs by marcus and language of "you dont want to destroy something this beautiful" are all really manipulative. i think the kisses at the rowing event and the ball were kind of forced as well - because previously, when simon had gone to kiss him at his place, marcus broke it off both times and basically said he wants it to go slow. the next we see of them is marcus' public displays of affection. just my thoughts anyway - but i think you've probably seen in the later episodes that marcus really was manipulative; though simon was also at fault with using marcus basically to make wille jealous at the valentines ball.
