I always feel bad for both Grug and Guy around the 45 minute to the 50 minute mark. Like, Grug is just trying to be there for his family in the best way that he knows how. The way that has always, and in his opinion, will always keep them safe. But we all know just how tired of Grug's stories Eep has grown over the years. She's a curious Tigress and she just wants to be free to follow that curiosity. Meanwhile, Guy is just trying to get to the mountain so that he can even live in the first place after what happened to him in his past. Guy's not even trying to one-up Grug, it just keeps happening because he's experienced more life in a shorter amount of time than Grug has in all of his years because Grug's motto has always been "Never not be afraid". And, while Grug's outlook is true and safe and you should always have some manner of fear, you also can't let fear hold you back from doing things. That's how Guy has lived his life. The story time moment with Grug and Guy is one of these moments of "Guy's life has hit different". Because Grug tells his story and Guy is even actually INVESTED in it. He even says that Grug's story was good, sort of, but when he says that 'my stories never end like that', he gets pulled by the rest of the family into telling one of his stories, which unintentionally one-ups Grug's because of how tired the family is of every story leading to inevitable death. Both Grug and Guy are dependable dudes who just want the best for the people they care about, which Guy hasn't had a lot of in his life. But they're set at odds by the circumstances of everything around them, and by Eep's feelings. I'm glad that the story of this movie eventually led to Grug and Guy respecting each other and coming to truly care for each other in the end.

this is one of the movies that hit harder when you are an adult or very wake as a teen. For me this hit when i was an adult, i am very thankfull giving it a second chance :D

Oh yeah, Grugg is 100% the protagonist here and I live for it. My family travels to northern Michigan every summer and it's very rural up there so the view of the sky is just incredible at night.

I think I’ve only been to two places with little light pollution to look at the stars. I will say, our area got to see the northern lights twice in the past year. Had never seen it before then, and it was one of the greatest things I’ve ever witnessed. Beautiful.
