This movie hits so hard. The first movie was great, don't get me wrong, but this one... I LOVE that they gave everyone a new challenge that didn't undermine their previous progress. Mind you, Buster still clearly hasn't grown past his "fake it 'till you make it" approach to life, but... that's honestly pretty reasonable, I think. He's lived that way for too much of his life. One thing that breaks me every time is Clay Calloway standing in the corridor just short of the stage. I get the pain from his loss, and _knowing_ that Ruby is about to show up to reassure him... my eyes are never dry for that moment. Everyone gets such a satisfying resolution, even Portia, and... by the time it happens, we're happy for her, too. The one character from the original that doesn't even get a passing mention is Mike, who... I'm REALLY glad that they just quietly moved on from him. To the team, he's just a bad memory who made a massive mess of things, and now that he's gone... he's just gone.
