I thought it was great that the love between the two main characters was never a concern in the film but rather her being accepted into the family. It made for a really interesting conflict and the ending was just awesome! Enjoy :)

I think with Nick not communicating and not standing up for Rachel really comes down to what Astrid said on the beach: If you know people for that long, you make excuses for their behaviour. Something that Nick also said in his proposal that was done making excuses for his family. Since it wasn't mentioned yet. Yes, that was Yellow by Coldplay and originally Chris Martin actually said no. Then the director actually wrote him a handwritten letter telling him why this song was so important to him and why he wanted to use it; which clearly worked. You can still read the letter online. Also, I am so happy you did this one! This is one of my favorite romance films 💛😊 (The other is Little Manhattan but that might be too niche for a reaction. )

Love a good romance movie! Some of my favourites are You've Got Mail, My Best Friend's Wedding, Notting Hill, While You Were Sleeping (also Christmas movie!), About Time, Leap Year, When Harry Met Sally and Music & Lyrics - there are so many fun ones out there!
