Since I drew the mom bods, I've wondered about pushing the bodies of my next gen cast, aiming for more distinct shape language in their character design. Idk how canon this is, just musing. Perhaps Magnolia is still petite, but has broader shoulders and slimmer hips, kind of an upside-down triangle in her torso, and another triangle in her pelvis. I think she cuts a very dapper, debonair figure, and her tendency toward sharp plunging necklines radiates powerful lesbian energy.
Magnolia took puberty blockers in early adolescence and began her physical transition (surgeries and spellwork) in her late teens. Due to her dysphoria there were parts of her body she wanted to change, and she often felt guilty over this because the fashion world she loved so often emphasized that feminine beauty should be natural and effortless. The hours spent on hair and make-up aren't mentioned, the cellulite hidden, the lighting tricks and clever angles all masked, tucked away, and the flashy model on the magazine cover is presented as ideal, normal. You're either born with it, or you're not. Magnolia wanted to be confident in her body, but felt like she was betraying this idea by having parts of her modified or magicked away. It was all a great source of shame and imposter syndrome, but her mothers assured her that while she was perfectly beautiful the way she was, there was nothing wrong with shaping her body to better match the vision she held of herself in her head. It talks a while for Magnolia to truly feel at home in her own skin, but she does get there eventually.....and how.
And now, as a beauty artist, she works to help other ponies feel at home in their own skin, and bring out their inner beauty. At least that's what she says when she charges at Bruce's eyebrows with a weed-whacker

honestly i love this side of Mags and also i feel like her and Belle Voleur have that body empowerment journey in common even if they don't agree in taste or personality shfkhsfjd. I wonder how their relationship and rivalry intersects w that, they seem like they'd b friends given common interests and values but the sheer I Hate Your Personality rlly divides them & u feel like only those who know them would guess that

I love her πππ Fierce, bold, beautiful, can accidently kick a tree over when she's pissy...give it up for our miss Magnolia!! I think maybe a next gen aging chart would be pretty neat! Just for funsies seeing the main cast as bitties, then those horrifically awkward preteen/teen years, adulthood, and their middle-ages (or this is you AFTER KIDS picture) . I think Bruce so far has shown the most drastic aging out of the cast with his glasses and greying mane (not that he isn't still a VERY handsome boi as his husband tells him like every day but dammit being married to a secret adrenaline junkie and having two kids with ZERO self preservation instincts and being a teacher to students who dont know the difference between "they're, their, and there" have gotten to Bruce okay don't judge him) I think itd be awesome to see how the others age too. Personally I've always seen Pandora going through like a "biker chick" phase in her later years as desperate attempt to prove to herself that even after ptas and cutting crust off her Oddie-kin's sandwiches that she's still a cool rebel princess right???
