Improving My Patreon

It will be so cool if you organize a monthly Q+A for patrons, because I'm very interested in reading your stories and learning more about favorite characters.

Love the Q&A!! Maybe as a "special" drawing reward like every couple months you could present a poll with some random pandoraverse headcanons and they vote on which one they would like to see drawn out? I think that would be a fun way to expand the verse and see/learn more about some characters. Or vote on a character and if you feel like drawing them you could do one of your wonderful sketch dump of that character. But either way don't push yourself!! I sincerely hope you have fun drawing again and know that we love anything you put out! ❤

Time lapses would be great and a bonus is if you did one for each drawing (doesn’t have to be the entire thing) you can post it on patreon and link it through dA whenever you post the drawing in question....incentivizing pledges. Idk if you’ve ever edited a speed paint before but it’s not too difficult, some programs even have a built in time lapse feature now

I don’t want you to be overwhelmed though, I know life is hard right now to say the least. So anything that makes you happy is good, being able to support my favorite artist is enough of a reward ♥️

Also timelapses, and maybe even an occasional tutorial? Your art has ridiculously high quality details/techniques that I would love to see either talked about or shown off in a timelapse ! Examples would include things like lighting, color palettes, preemptive sketching (showing how far a piece has come from your original idea, what your thought process was, etc), the way you draw hair (!!!!) stuff like that! (I understand explaining it all can be overwhelming though! So timelapses alone would be r a d )

Would you ever be open to discounts/dibs on commissions? I’m trying to remember if anything like that was ever included in your tiers... I’ve supported for $20/mo since your Patreon launched, jussssttttt now lowering that this month due to brokeness via Covid :( But I’ve always wanted an OC commission from you, even just a sketch?? I would adore the opportunity!!

I would absolutely love tutorials! Horses are hard! xD OC critique/consultation would also be very much appreciated! I might be more interested in story/character critique or input rather than design but it would be super cool to be able to ask for help! Happy to stay at the $20 tier for that!

I would have gone on the higher teir's depending on what they had, I'm on the $10 one atm. I'm mostly interested in ordering commissions as in about a month or so I'll be in a much better financial position and I really miss commissioning art.

I love the Q + A idea! I think one thing that might be cool too is having a monthly/biweekly type of poll for different tiers of patrons on what they want to see you draw. For example, tier 1 would get to propose doodle ideas that you choose from based on the idea you like the best. For tier 2, the patrons could vote on ideas you propose, and the most popular one gets drawn. Tier 3 could be a thing where people can suggest what they want you to draw as well as vote on suggestions others provided, and majority wins (as long as it's reasonable, of course). Or maybe shift everything up one tier and have tier 1 be a doodle request raffle, where everyone who wants to suggests an idea and you use an RNG to pick which one to do a loose sketch of? Four tiers might work well for that bc then you can just focus on one tier each week of the month. I think the nextgen/character design help could be nice, but I'd definitely keep it a broad "general design help" kind of idea for people who might like to make OCs that aren't nextgen but just can't figure out colors, for example.

I've always really liked being able to see everything and pay what you can but I love the reward ideas! All three are very nice and would be cool to see.

Process videos/Speedpaints from time to time could be a neat idea. I know I'm always fascinated with how others draw. Another idea Ive seen is a "build your character" poll-- one releases several polls after another, which each deciding a different part of the character. So if one was to do a pony, one poll would be race, one would be coat color, etc, that the Patrons vote on. At the end it makes a character that can be sold for adoption! And another idea I see that's similar to what you've suggested is a monthly sketch/drawing poll-- you take 4-6 ideas you have and let the Patrons vote on what will be drawn for the month. It's a nice way to motivate one to finish some WIPs.

Definitely Q&A and tutorials! Q&A's as hopefully a fun little thing that you'll be able to enjoy ^^ Maybe people can comment on the post or maybe message you privately as some sort of an anonymous thing? If that makes sense? Tutorials for wings, poses, manes, etc. are ones I would definitely love to see because I honestly really struggle with those at times lol Another thing you might consider, if you ever decide to do commissions again, instead of offering monthly free ones for the highest tier (unless you want to of course), maybe you can offer discounts instead? There's another artist I follow that tried the free thing every month but that came a bit overwhelming for them. The higher the tier, the bigger the discount. It doesn't have to be super drastic though. You might also consider doing them every 2-3 months :O I unfortunately had to downgrade due to a situation going on in my life but will for sure upgrade myself in the future and will look forward to seeing what you have in store!
