If you enjoy my work, I'm certain you'll enjoy Frog's, as she's the mind behind When We Fly, a fictional universe full of cozy slice-of-life adventures of older queer furry folk. I adore WWF (as well as Frog's entire body of work, including her extensive folder of MLP fanart) and was deeply inspired by it when I decided to create Fuzzbutts! I was pretty tickled when Frog elected to draw my own idiot bois. <3 Frog's original description reads:
You know I love to draw a mature couple, and Perry the fuzzy feline and his big boar Tibbs have made the trek to St. Charlies PRIDE!
(St. Charlies being the primary setting of When We Fly. Both Perry and Tibbs are very much into attending pride events, both to celebrate their queerness and to help destigmatize/normalize pred/prey relationship. Perry is gay and trans, Tibbs is panromantic and demisexual, and they're happily married.)
I decided to whip up a WWF/Fuzzbutts crossover doodle.>:3 Featuring my Cupcake and Frog's own Icy Urski, the big mama polar bear who owns and operates St. Charlies' favorite megafauna gym, Roughnecks! As a bear in her fifties, Icy is wholly confident in her strength, identity, and the social causes in which she believes in. She apparently has a tendency toward adopting other bears as "cousins"...enter Cupcake. Cupcake has been restraining her strength and hiding her carnivore nature her whole life to make smaller critters less....well....terrified around her. Her every movement is measured and careful, she slouches to make herself appear less massive, she can basically never relax. I imagine getting adopted as a "cousin" by a giant confident queer elder bear like Icy and being taught to tap into her latent carnivore strength would do wonders for Cups' self-esteem....we can see here, in the face of Icy's gruff-but-kind encouragement, Cupcake breaking out a rarely-seen, tiny, true blue smile~

Oooh maybe Priscilla or Victoria would play a part in Skye experimenting with gender? She would have met them while visiting Sunny and it's easy for her to make friends, so soon enough Skye gets to have some gal pals visits when she sees Sunny too. True Priscilla's tastes run more toward feminine and Vee is still a baby gay, but when Skye shyly brings up the topic one night she's shocked at how enthusically they encourage her. This especially inspires Vee to try cross dressing some day. Pretty sure she's not gender fluid like Skye and Sunny but DAMN if being in a tux does things for her confidence (and maybe a big middle finger to her strict past) Anyways the first time Sunny gets to take Skye out like that and trying different pronouns he pretty much giggled like a moron the whole night over his super beautiful boyfriend! -Listen Lo and Sil HYPE THE FUCK UP each other you don't even know. That's their BRO. Their homie, comrade, mate, bfforeverletsgooooo. This absouletly continues after they get together and Silver may have developed a praise kink he's so starved for love hahaha help him

Consider also, Skye happening upon a drag king show and being awed at all the confident kings strutting around and giving a nervous bark-laugh when Sunny asks if she wants to go talk to one cuz NOPE nope definitely no feelings about gender to unpack let's go get rainbow snowcones ahHAhHAhA Silver and Logan would be SO obnoxious at Pride once Silver figures out he's bisexual. They'd probably rent a double bicycle ("It's a bi-bicycle! Get it?") smothered in bi flags and tassels and glitter blasting "Bye Bye Bye" by NSYNC, Logan hyping the FUCK outta his fellow bi boi

YASSS I love the compare and contrast between Icy and Cuppy. Are there any masseusse's or chiropractors that Cupcake can afford to visit? Being that tense and on edge all the time must be hella taxing for her muscles and bones :c

I love the bois in Frog's style!!!! And I was in my very first Pride parade with my friend and his boyfriend! ❤❤❤ It was so much fun and thankfully no ace exclusion. Everyone was so so nice and I may or may not now have a lil bit if a crush on a drag queen called Miss Viola CUPPY CAKES!!!! Imo everyone needs a queer fairy godparent at some point in their lives. I also have a habit of compulsivly taking any queer youth I find in the wild and snatching them under my wing. (Oh god this is making me think about Logan, Skye, and Sunny dragging their favorite grump roos to their first Pride parade. Perhaps after a while Bruce is feeling confident and safe enough to maybe let himself get the bi-flag on his face, and while at that time Sil had yet to start being homiesexual with Lo and realize he was bi as well, he certainly had a lot of fun and it def gave him some stuff to think about later)
