MerMay Slight Delay

I planned to have some merpony Bruce content uploaded for the month of MerMay, buuut I hit a small snag. I've been dealing with some stray cats in my backyard, which seemed like a non-issue at first, but quickly became a problem when it turned out they were carrying fleas. Lots of them. Which took up residence in my yard and swarmed all over my dog. It has been awful, relentless work to destroy the infestation. Bug bombs, pesticide sprays, wrangling poor Daisy into the tub with a flea comb and picking them off one by one. It gives me the willies just thinking about those bugs crawling through her fur. Oh, and the cats abandoned a pair of young kittens behind one of our potted plants. 🙃

So it's been a bit of an ordeal wiping out the infestation and finding somebody to take in the kittens. I thank you all for your patience and support, it means a lot! I will have some (belated) MerMay content uploaded over the coming days, and hopefully fresh art as well. Hope everyone had a lovely May, here's hoping for a wonderful summer~

SO SHMOLL Ack - I used to deal with flea infestations constantly as a kid. I had to get my cat a Seresto collar and spray stuff down with wintergreen alcohol before washing it in hot water. Just make sure pets are nowhere near the alcohol fumes. For Daisy, the Seresto collars are like $50-60 (I found them cheapest online at Walmart) and good for 6-8 months. Avoid using anything with permethrin or essential oils on the kittens cause it's toxic to cats. The dawn dish soap baths no more than twice a week are a good start. It's scary when kittens get flea infestations because the blood loss and parasites kill them so quick :(
Hopefully if you go to your council/pound you can borrow cat traps for them and when you get them send them to humane shelters <3 my parent's live on a property so we get cats dumped there all the time :( but we have a cat trap at home and save them fairly often <3
