Bright had good world-building? It was lazy as fuck. It's just our world, but some people are fantasy now. The whole "There was an ancient war with all the magic" bit had no effect on 201X culture. Presence of magic had no effect on technology. Presence of fucking orcs and elves had no effect on regular old racism.
