Belated Fourth of July!
🕑 Added 2023-07-09 11:48:42 +0000 UTCI was standing on my porch on the Fourth of July, watching all illegal fireworks going off in the middle of my apartment complex and noticed it was absolutely FREEZING outside, like I remember going to watch fireworks and theme parks on summer nights as a kid wearing shorts and a t-shirt and it never being this cold, and that lead to this.

There's a good chance Emily was in fact dressed warmly, but she's been losing her clothes in a series of improbable events, which will of course culminate with the Grand Finale. that's why Gwen needs to stick around for it, she has a sixth sense for getting Emily into trouble. Out by the coast we pretty much always have cold, damp fog for Independence Day. For all of summer pretty much, but it's most noticeable when you spend the evening outside.

There's three of them and one of Gwen. I say they steal her warmer clothes. The clothes might not survive, but at least everyone would be cold together.
