Can you make an updated video on the apps and services you use now that you recommend for others?

The Hated One

I am gonna make a dedicated episode on this. You've inspired a lot of ideas with this. Thank you for sharing. There is so much to say I am gonna post about this soon!

I would like to know how to actually maximize privacy while being surrounded by family and friends who refuse to give up the convenience of their devices & apps that violate their privacy. For example, I have a blended family with 8 kids and a wife who uses TikTok and Facebook for her very successful business. It seems near impossible to remove myself from the equation when time and time again her device serves her ads based on conversations she has had with me. The same goes with my teenage daughters who are using the same category of apps. I am using a Pixel Fold with Graphene OS for my personal use, and I do what I can from my end to block unwanted tracking, but I feel like it isn’t doing anything in the end. Maybe I should cave and just dive in with the rest of society. My question to you is this: Is it a futile exercise for me to try and manage my own privacy while other devices around me are most likely building a profile for me by association? I feel this is the case for anyone who isn’t in a “cabin in the woods” as Simon from your last podcast feature said.

I already have a car surveillance video but will make a new one. Can you elaborate on the AI evading e2ee? Do you have a specific story on this or is this just an idea?

The Hated One

There is actually a lot of interesting stuff to cover tamper resistance. Gonna have to figure out how to turn into interesting content.

The Hated One

Not late at all. I'm always taking suggestions. Thanks for this. Due to popular demand I'm gonna be making several videos on privacy techniques and tools

Max B.

A bit late to the party but maybe a cover of some privacy apps photo prism and such for more novice users?

The Hated One

When it's intercepted in the supply chain? I think only tamper resistan/evident hardware sale can get you there.

Larp Lover

Perhaps an op-ed covering Steam's forced arbitration clause and the latest developments regarding it. I just watched Bellular News' video on it — sounds pretty juicy.

Another idea: Given the news about Hezbollah and pagers that blew up, is there a realistic way to protect our phones' battery controller code?

The Hated One

Interesting. Didn't know he was doing something like that. I only know him for trashing Apple fro dogshit anti-repair practices

I like Louis Rossman and his work a lot! I've been using Futo Keyboard for 1-2 months and it's amazing IMO. I even purchased it to support it. Seems very privacy friendly too (I hope I'm not mistaken here).

The Hated One

This is great! Will do this one for sure!

hugo

hello, preventing and/or defending yourself and others from cognitive warfare. Gathering News articles, condensed tltr and fact-checking.

Hasty Pastry

Luis Rossman promoted them, he owns part of them or manages something there, not sure. As for Nebula, I hope so! I know unlike YT there's an onboarding process

The Hated One

Oh this would awesome to cover! Would love meet with those folks too!

The Hated One

I haven't heard of Futo. Will check it out. Would Nebula work even for a small channel like mine, you think? Ah, yes... Mozilla... Where to even begin. That should be a video series!

Hasty Pastry

1. Maybe about your thoughts on the different YT alternatives? E.g. Nebula, or Futo's products. Futo seems to be getting some flack for not being FOSS and only open source. Although I know Nebula added a clause for marketing in their ToS but they don't have ads atm 2. The whole Mozilla debacle, with their sketchy business model but great browser, and how to balance that when it comes to privacy and future of privacy

Luis

Hello THO, I would humbly suggest: -Data collection in cars, -AI as a way of evading e2e encryption. -Dangers of NPU in phones and how avoid tracking of data with those things.

Harr

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the pirate movement and pirate politics, started by Rick Falkvinge. Do you think they could have any real impact?

Gabriel

Hi THO, Here are some sugestions: - Threat Lanscape (this could be a regular session - like a series); Notes: Threat Actors, Supply chain attacks, Tools, etc - the everchaging Threat Landscape is a rather complex topic, which could also include a section about the latest cyber attacks - Linux Distros review (could be regular) Notes: The focus can be on personal privacy - A cyberpunk's toolbox - a maintained list of privacy/anonymity tools for mobile phones, Linux, open-source, open hardware, etc Cheers

The Hated One

Do you know off any such adjacent channels you think might be a good fit?

Andor

You can do more podcasts and also connect with other fields. Example: Apple get away with things because they play the marketing and psychology game. You can collab with a psychology channel. Hope this was helpfull love your content!

Pronoun

Hey THO, more opsec and privacy content. Big ups.
