New Video Progress Update (January 2024)
🕑 Added 2024-01-05 06:20:28 +0000 UTCIf you're wondering why it's been some time since my last video, well, this is why.
Yes, that's 50 minutes - my longest video yet - and counting; it may get even bigger as it continues to evolve.
I don't usually post about videos-in-progress - I prefer to surprise people and leave as much unspoiled as possible - but since it's going to take a little more time to get this all finished up, I figured I'd at least provide some info about what's currently in the works.
This is not a LEGO Island update - yes I know, disappointing - instead, it covers my journey of backporting Microsoft .NET to Windows 95 (which I wrote about previously here), which ended up being a surprisingly long and challenging process. There were a lot of little puzzles that needed to be solved, a lot of Microsoft decisions that needed to be reverse engineered, and I'm super excited to be able to tell you guys all about it when this is comes out. My goal is to have it up before the end of January, at least on Patreon, and so far I think I'm on track to meet that deadline.
In general, I really love doing these larger, more ambitious projects, and this is the direction I'd like to take the main channel in from now on. Stuff that I can really sink my teeth into, and that hopefully contributes something back to the world of retro tech that I love so much. Occasionally, that may mean longer gaps between videos like this, but hopefully the result is videos that are even better and more interesting as a result. Also, hopefully the more frequent live streams and shorter "Bytes" videos are helping to hold you over.
It's largely because of you guys that I can afford to do bigger stuff like this, so I really want to say thanks. Your support means a lot to me, and with it I hope to be making a lot of bigger and better stuff throughout 2024!

Totally serious. Also, Matt uses Linux, I doubt he'd use Premiere. Note the KDE theme.

Hm, can't tell if you're joking. No, it's Adobe Premiere.
