EARLY ACCESS: The first half of "I ported thousands of apps to Windows 95"
🕑 Added 2024-03-04 10:08:24 +0000 UTCThat's right, you guys are FINALLY getting a look at the video I've been working on more-or-less nonstop since December! In fact, even now the whole video still isn't completely "done", so this is just the first half; I'll hopefully have the rest ready for you guys next weekend.
There are still a few missing things and minor issues in this half I haven't yet ironed out - mostly some of the audio and some rough edits - but those should all be resolved by next week too.
Thanks again for your patience, as I've mentioned this the biggest video I've ever made, and I really appreciate you guys giving me the opportunity to do more ambitious videos like this. I hope it will be worth the wait!

Wow, your production quality is incredible here! I do have one small suggestion, though. During the "intermission" part with the old-timey video explaining the character encodings, it would probably be beneficial to slow down the recorded dialog a bit. It seems to be a bit too fast and made it a bit difficult to understand.

How did your production value just go thru the roof so suddenly wth?

Amazing work like usual! Glad I can finally support you, retro computing stuff like this is awesome to watch with their little hacks they put in.

Amazing! Such a throwback to your older videos, like a master wistfully looking back at his former years. Btw, what's the name of the music that plays during the "Part 1" title card?

Awesome, definitely worth the wait! Looking forward to the full video, keep up the good work Matt!

Echoing what the others said, this was a really stand out video, when I first saw the skits I was worried they were going to be cringey but you really made them work well!

I agree the production value is exploding in this video. I very much enjoyed this and it's a night and day difference. Just stating "in case" you didn't know, the elmo when it comes on screen for the first time is not really in sync with when you bring it up, it's still showing the last picture. Some of the clips dip in quality/resolution. It becomes blocky. Again, just saying in case no one was aware.

Fantastic video. Your production value is off the charts.. but my only question is why is Lego island guy not chained to desk in a basement somewhere finishing the decomp? Lego island isn’t going to decompile itself.. someone arrest this man and make him serve the remainder of his sentence as the brickster.

Man, if this is the quality of content you’re going to churn out in 3-4 months time, then I have 0 complaints waiting for it. I’m prepping a 486 machine right now (and with the help of your GitHub) so I can play along.

Fascinating content as always Matt! You put a lot of effort into this and it shows. I've never used 95 in my life and I'm fully invested in this project - can't wait for the next part!! And the butter bit caught me so off guard I literally lol'd.
