One thing I've been getting is a bit of a Wayne Barlowe feel to the art style. I'm not saying that you're imitating his work, but I do see his influences in your designs in this series of pictures.

Wow, big edit! I'm always impressed with your ability to strip back your work to this degree, I would definitely have that sunk-cost fallacy thing and be too afraid to delete such a huge portion, or add a bunch of negative space like you did here. This definitely improves the focus tho
