Because y'all loved this movie so much, I'd suggest Finding Forrester with Sean Connery. One of the basketball characters from Coach Carter is in this movie. It was his first time acting and he nailed it! I doubt it will ever make the list but it is excellent. I guarantee it'll be a favorite!!

I loved the conversation about college. My situation growing up was like many kids. I didn't know we were poor until I was an adult.. lol. NOT going to college was never considered in my home. It was ingrained. I thought it was what everyone was supposed to do. I wouldn't trade my college years for anything. I encourage students to experience college because that might be where the fuse is lit. You meet people from across the globe and are exposed to different and exciting things. The relationships you build will last a lifetime. P.S.: 1 school year = 2 semesters = 4 quarters.

took me years to figure out Ty crane is really Tyson Chandler in the real story, he was a really good player in the NBA that played with Melo with the Knicks and many others like Lebron James, Kobe Byant, Chris Paul, Kevin Durant and James Harden. Glory Road is another great basketball Movie about the first Starting five all black players in history, the Heats GM Pat Riley was one of the famous players in there.
