I love this movie. I cry every time I watch it. He knew he was sick and dying anyway so he have his life to protect his friends. A beautiful sacrifice. He went to confession with the Father but he really had confession with Tao when he locked him up and talked to him through the screen ❤️❤️❤️

This really a great movie sad asf I’ve seen it so many times. People say it’s kinda slow but if you just sit in watch like yall did you will see that this was amazing work on showing character development. It’s a pretty racist movie when they talked but it actually won a few foreign awards said it helped bring people together.

For those who havent seen this do not read this comment 😆What i like about this movie is,you see what life and the war did to Walt(up-bringing and time period probably played a major role)and how he percieves and treats those of other races and the shift that follows.From his first interactions with the neighbors and the gradual change throughout and them(Sue especially)opening their doors to him,it seemed to change his perception or perspective of them to where,he took a liking to them,to the point, he sacrificed his life(or atleast what life he had left due to illness) to save them.I think him seeing through the BS of his own fam not caring and just using him didnt help.A hard man, with a hard exterior and soft (or what became a soft interior) and caring heart which i think the neighbors helped unlock lol.You could see when Sue were kidnapped,it destroyed him,possibly also because he felt guilty as he had threatened them prior.Sue were such a nice/cool person in the movie.
