I don't know if anyone mentioned this but many of the people you were introduced to in the first part were all major Motown artists. The Supremes = Diana Ross and the Supremes. Mary Wells, Martha Reeves, and Tammi Terrel were huge. Eddie Kendrick's "Keep on Truckin" is the sample used for Light's Camera Action song by Mr. Cheeks.

Chronic illness/chronic pain can mess you up mentally and emotionally in the worst way. It can cause you to end your life even if you arenāt an alcoholic or on drugs. Ironically it can easily cause you to be an alcoholic or addict. Chronic illness/pain is an awful monster.

Itās crazy how they kept trying to throw ātemptations foreverā in Otisā face when they are the ones who decided to break that bond/pact. Otis didnāt break it, they did. Otis said ātemptations foreverā and meant it. He always put the group first and did everything he could at all times to make sure the group continued on. They are the ones who didnāt. (Obviously Iām basing that on this movie but this movie is all I have to go on.)

David passed from an overdose. Robert Townsend ( Duck from The five heartbeats) and Keenan Wayans planned to put him in rehab once the got the 5 heartbeats movie green lit but he died before they could. Paul had sickle cell and possibly started drinking to cope with that. Blue passed in a hospital from complications after having a seizure due to his health issues but they didnāt want to depict it in the movie cause it was so fresh.

David and Eddie were very close. The reason Eddie left the group was because Paul was dealing with his stuff and then when Paul died that gave him enough push to leave the group because he didnāt like the musical the direction the group was going. In the case of Paul he suffered from Sickle Cell Anemia which made him very weak at times to the point where he couldnāt perform, he would abuse alcohol to mask the pain he was feeling. So thatās the real reason he was a drunk later in life. But back to David and Eddie. They were very close and did an album together after Eddie left the Temps. And also forming with Dennis Edwards another form of the temptations. Another thing, Dennis Edwards the new lead singer and David Ruffin were best friends their whole life, and David did indeed try to take his spot from Dennis, to no avail. Dennis wasnāt too bothered by it and they remained best friends until David died. Also Dennis Edwards was better than David Ruffin in terms of less trouble but he himself abused drugs and alcohol and would miss rehearsals aswellš. So he was David Ruffin .5 Richard Street was the guy who replaced Paul and he was in the original Otis Williams in the Distants. In Part 1. He was the really tall one. He was a very good singer. You can hear him singing on Papa Was Rolling Stone on the 2nd verse.

The movies Otis mentioned Barry Gordy was doing is The Last Dragon and Lady Sings the Blues, which is a Billie Holiday biopic starring Diana Ross, Billie Dee Williams, and Richard Pryor. Both classics. Although Paul started drinking due to pre existing health conditions, alcohol can cause all kinds of serious medical conditions, some debilitating. For instance, Al died at 36yrs old, of Cirrhosis of the liver. Plus, some people have an addictive personality and donāt discover it until itās too late.

Paul had sickle cell disease .. thatās why he started to drink to help cope with the pain .. Iām not sure why it wasnāt showed in the series but he was definitely the fan favorite of the group .. he brought the style & dancing to them šŖš½

What happened to Paul was sad. But he was an adult, to look after him for 24/7 isn't fair to any of them especially when they had their own families to take care of. Going to rehab would've been a better option if he was willing to go to one.
