You're not wrong about Levy's urging them to review all possible people who could be used against them . But to think that Stringer wasn't doing things on his own without Avon being in the loop is not quite true . In fact, the more Avon became less available, out of what was initially his own protection, the more Stringer started running his own plays and manipulating situations outside . When Kima got shot and the domino effect of that on their operation, that was all a result of a drug buy with Orlando of all people . Stringer didn't see the obvious red flag in thinking Orlando could just pop out with that level of cash . Stringer tries to bust moves on his own and when they blow up in his face he tells Avon " I know man I know man..I tucked up " . Or he lies for as long as he can . He lied to Avon about his deal with Prop Joe the whole time, he lied to Brother Muzzone who Avon sent , he lied to Omar about Muzzone . When D told Avon that Wallace is out the game and to leave him be, I believe Avon received that and was going to let him live on the strength of his nephew's passion behind it ( Avon trusted D'Angelo differently) , but Stringer with his reports from Boadie about Wallace demeanor was enough to make Stringer decide on his own to get rid of him just in case .

The indication is the scene where they met with Levy and came up with a list of people that could hurt them. Levy basically told them to hit the security lady despite Avon not initially wanting to. And then we got the Wallace scene with Avon and Stringer and D. The entire point of that meeting with Levy was they needed to action a plan to tie up ALL loose ends which is what they did. We know what it looks like when Stringer goes against Avons orders because she show deliberately shows us that. But that was not the story of season 1. There was never a scene where Avon is like why did you kill that boy when I told you not to. There is never a scene where D is like Iām only mad at String because at least my uncle didnāt sign off on it. None of that because that isnāt the story. D knows exactly what Avon did.

DEE got in that room and told everything, and the only reason he didn't testify to it was because him momma got to him, but you can't undo what you've already heard, so they knew everything......

Don't get me wrong, Avon definitely got under his skin by essentially calling him too soft for war, and too green for downtown. In that very moment, Stringer sized Avon up and saw a wounded predictable leader .

There is zero indication that Stringer went behind his back. Not one scene. The entire point of the clean up was to tie all loose ends. Stringer was the go get it done piece but he was moving on Avonās orders. They made a list of everyone that was a problem and Stringer relayed the hit to whichever pawn or bishop they passed it off to. D was not irrationally angry at Avon for no reason. He wasnāt willing to testify against Avon just to avoid jail time. Avon sanctioned the hit on Wallace after he told him to let him be and D could never trust his uncle again after that.

I was a lil sad when y'all didn't get the joke when Daniels asked Pres if the phones were on the right or left side of the register. It was a compliment because (as you already know) Pres is thorough and he locked in on figuring out how they move with burner phones. Pres has proven himself to be very good at investigating. When Pres asked, "How would I know that?" I was waiting on Jae and Amanda to be like, "Because you figure out everything else!" But it was dead silent! I couldn't help but laugh to myself.

It might seem reckless that Stringer told Avon but it was probably the best move to make in that moment because Brianna was about to tell Avon anyway. I think Stringer figured it was better to get out in front of it and control the narrative before Brianna started throwing accusations and making Avon question what happened to D for himself.
