I'm not mad at it . It might be an generation thing . Brown Sugar with it's hip hop motif intertwined with the story could make the film and it's jokes more relatable to Jae and Amanda . Boomerang has a lot more nostalgia for me, but that's because I saw it in theaters .

There are so many legendary older Black actors in this movie: Nelson (the ad editor) is Geoffrey Holder. He was a famous Black ballet dancer turned actor. He was known for being a James Bond villain. And he was the voice for 7up commercials for years. Then there’s Earth Kitt, famous Broadway actress, movie actress, singer. She was world renowned. Grace Jones was a famous model for all the big designers. She was known for her androgynous look and that beautiful ebony complexion. She was in the NY hipster & club scene and became a singer with hit record and then an actress. Also was a famous James Bond villain.

Marcus was never really into either women . Marcus was all about the high of bagging something fly . The more Jackie showed she wasn't really pressed, the more he felt determined to woo her . Angela as down to earth and gorgeous as she was , Marcus used her as a soft landing to get his confidence back after being humiliated by Jacqueline. In the end, he never took any accountability for how he was moving, he just played on Angela's good heart to save him because he " cant breathe" .

This movie was refreshingly groundbreaking in the time it came out . The year was 1992 and while we were experiencing an influx of black films and black filmmakers at the box office, a lot of the stories were beloved joints like Boyz in tha hoods, Juice, New Jack City, South Central, Menace to Society, even the romance joint was Poetic Justice type romance aka hood trauma love . What I fell in love with this movie for at 18 was the fact that Boomerang was an iconic all black cast in a setting where characters are running a cosmetics empire, living in fly penthouses, and outside of the relationship shenanigans and jokes, everyone is successful and moving around without white authorities or environmental threats . Nobody dying from gun violence, no 40 ounce beer guzzling, no cursing women out on the block, nobody offering head for crack . Boomerang was kinda the first of this type of black film that showed that there are other black stories besides hood narratives .

Marcus was a ladies man probably most of his teen & adult life. Most likely he didn't have a problem pulling the girls/Women, so love or a relationship never entered his mind. That lifestyle affected his thinking, like he said. " I'm want perfection". But nobody's perfect. The woman walking her dog was sweet, but played her & left her because of her toes. 😂SMH. It took a woman like Jacqueline to hurt him, and a woman like Angela for him to see what's important between man and woman. Not excusing his actions, but life lessons as re often learned through experience. It's hard to STOP doing something or living a certain way when you've done it MOST of your life. Marcus had to grow,he wasn't evil, just foolish. It took Angela's love and even Jacqueline hurting him for him to see how foolish he'd been. It's called growth, it takes a while for all of us. Marcus finally grew up.

Don’t gaslight Amanda! Wether someone is perfect or not is irrelevant. Amanda is just calling out his whack ass behavior. He cheated on Angela (the woman he had been in a relationship with long enough for her to have a whole art studio at his house) and his excuse was “some things you just can’t help… like who you love”, basically claiming he cheated bc he realized he still loves Jacqueline. Then the next min he’s in Jacqueline’s bed claiming he loves Angela. Amanda just called out that it’s bs, which it is. She didn’t say he’s irredeemable. If Angela had cheated on him he wouldn’t be saying “It’s ok she cheated on me and told me she can’t help that she loves the guy she cheated with, she’s not perfect.” Be fr! Men always make excuses for themselves but if a woman cheats, he doesn’t excuse shit! Be still mad at the girl who dumped him when he was 12! 🤣

Yes, but before Catwoman was a movie, Batman was a TV show in the '60s. Eartha Kitt played Catwoman on that show and the rest is Batman history. Not sure why you said the Catwoman movie came out in 2004 except to possibly discredit the claim Kitt was the original catwoman. The claim that Kitt is the original Catwoman is inaccurate. She played in the 3rd season of Batman and was the second woman to play that character in the TV series. This was before my time but thankfully we can rely on research instead of what we think we know.
