Love this player. If I could make one change it would be the ability to remember where the viewer left off. If I have to reopen Patreon it’s inconvenient to have to find where I left off every time. That’s just me nitpicking though. The new player is far better than the alternative.

Love you guys! The video worked perfectly. Other things I noticed. Either the table is too high or the chairs are too low. You look like a bunch of kids sitting at an adult picnic table LOL. Also the backdrops need help. But I know it’s early. It was really nice not to have to enter a password to watch the video. Worked perfectly and looks great!

Just make sure you're logged in on the browser and hit "Add to watch later". You can then watch it on the Vimeo TV app without having to put in the link or password again.

I normally watch the TESD videos on my Apple TV through AirPlay. For some reason AirPlay fails when watching videos from inside the Patreon site (both Vimeo and this new system). With Vimeo I can click on the Vimeo logo, which opens the video in the Vimeo website where AirPlay works just fine... so unfortunately the new system forces me to watch on my small laptop screen. I'm a software developer. If the Patreon people need me to test something to make things work with Apple TV, just let me know... I'll be glad to help.

My two cents, is that everytime I press play with my headphone button, the video starts playing instead of the podcast that I was playing. Both sometimes start playing together. Vimeo is nice and easy and I like the passwords being a line from the videos.

Please post on Vimeo. I was able to download videos to watch offline through the Vimeo app. Also if I wanted to watch on my TV I just had to type in the Vimeo link/password

Patreon player will not over ride other media that is being played on my phone. Not necessarily a problem, but is something that pretty much all other apps will do. If i have a song playing on spotify or a video playing on youtube, they will continue to play when i start the video

Very much dislike being unable to download the video to watch it offline. Streaming needs reliable internet speed (to avoid drop outs and buffering), which I don't have. Suggest publishing both, Patreon video will serve many of your subscribers (and reduce traffic costs from vimeo) with Vimeo as the backup for people with worse technology or different preferences.

Great episode, I did have a couple issues with the patreon player though. It would be nice to be able to chromecast it, I wasn't able to do that. Also, downloading the episode is something that I really would miss. The player also froze up on me about 30 minutes in to the video. It is nice to just play right from the app though.

The Patreon player worked perfectly for me. No issues at all (watched on iPhone). Great episode. I skipped through the part where Tom taught Sunday the tricks so I could see the act without any foreknowledge of the tricks. He did a pretty good job. I went back and watched the rest of the episode afterward. Great job guys :)

Patreon video player is fine. Vimeo is far superior for various reasons. Not the least of which is being able to rewind 5 seconds using the arrow key. On this player, it takes you back a full minute (On PC). Sometimes I need to rewind just 10 or 15 seconds to hear something I missed because I was laughing.

I've had a lot of problems using vimeo and this worked great had no issues. On Vimeo if I make it fullscreen on my phone a good portion of the image is cropped out also on Vimeo if I pause to watch later or try to rewind I often have the video restart from the beginning but I didn't have that problem here.

First of all, GREAT episode. Loved it. I don’t download so not a problem for me. However a small issue, when the play bar goes away (in NOT full screen, and clicking play in the main TESD feed) and you tap the screen to bring it back up (to pause or rewind, whatever) it actually takes you to the PAGE of the post and the video is back at the beginning. But the audio is still going. So you have to tap “back” to go back to the main feed to continue watching the video. I hope that makes sense. Also the video and audio will continue to play even after locking my phone. On Bluetooth I locked my phone, the audio was still playing, then I paused from my Lock Screen to stop it, but 2 seconds later it would start playing audio again. Also the pause buttons from my blue tooth headset doesn’t work with the video. I don’t have this issue with any other app/program. And I use my Bluetooth headphones every day. iPhone 11.

I watch content on my phone so I found it was way easier to watch with this player. Vimeo always used to freeze when I watched and I had to close the app and restart the video. Plus I hated putting in the password.

Honestly they should do video of TESD episodes on youtube. Podcast videos on youtube have BLOWN UP this past year. Keep the special video projects on patreon, but just footage of them recording TESD would be great on youtube, would help attract new ants. (look at Sal and his youtube podcasts)

If you click on the Vimeo logo on the bottom right of the video while it's playing on Patreon it takes you to it on the Vimeo page itself. Once you're there you'll see a "Download" button in the bottom right of the screen.

Pretty standard video player, I'd have no problems with it going forward as I know Viemo are really throttling people who use the platform as of late. That being said I am one of (seemingly) many who like to download the videos and watch them on TV. I understand why Patreon might not want that but for me it means as long as Vimeo or a way of downloading the video on an alternative platform is available that will be my preference.

Completely destroys the video side of the TESD Patreon for me. I download every video from Vimeo and put it onto my PC (Plex server) so I can watch on my TV. Without a download option, I won't watch the videos. I have been a Fire Ant since Day 1, the announcement of the Patreon, but this would be awful for people like me. An enormous amount of people download these videos so they can watch them on whatever platform they prefer, specifically on their TV's, and Vimeo allows that by offering downloads. This new Patreon in-page viewer does not. The loss of the video side for me would definitely make me rethink my subscription.

The video seems to play fine, but I prefer to watch all my Patreon content on my TV and not on my laptop or phone. That's why I prefer the Vimeo option because I can watch it via the Vimeo app on my Roku. Like others, I, too, would like a download option. I save all the episodes for posterity, but if Vimeo goes away, I'll need some way in which to watch it on my TV.

I prefer the app integration. It works smoother when I go to another app while it plays and still allows me to AirPlay it to the TV. Plus, no passwords is a nice thing; I would imagine it also helps from people sharing the Vimeo link and password.

If you want to Stream/Chromecast, it doesn't seem to be an issue to just open up Patreon in Chrome and stream the page. You should be able to go into full screen mode, no problem.

Like a lot of other ants, I like downloading on vimeo. One issue I found that no one has mentioned yet, is if you have to quit watching for whatever reason before the episode is over, it starts over. If it could be made to pick up where you left off, that'd be awesome
