Wildfire 1X8: The Track
🕑 Added 2024-09-04 16:00:11 +0000 UTCUgh. I did it again. I've gotten into a rhythm of watching Wildfire several days before it's scheduled to go up. And now I've got to remember what I watched. (I've seen a couple further episodes by now. Eek!)
So, lots of this episode was about who was making Wildfire sick. While at a race, he was expected to do well, and was doing so, until he pilled up and ended in last place. Pablo immediately knew something was wrong. And as soon as the race was over, the jockey (?) called Pablo to confirm the problem.
It seems he's ingested some poison of some kind. At first, Kris is concerned it's something she messed up, but upon further thinking about it, she's sure she's not at fault. So, she and Matt start investigating all the suspects to see who it might be. Turns out, it's the son of a former employee who get laid off after the farm is having money troubles.
And speaking of money troubles, Matt ends up selling his motorcycle to pay off some gambling debts. It's just getting worse and worse for him, isn't it?
Also, Dani ends up having some sort of medical procedure. I have no idea what it is. I'm torn between abortion and skin cancer. Do you guys have any idea? Speaking of Dani, she inadvertently ends up talking up Junior to Kris. And the more we go along, the further I am warming up to him. Do we think he can overtake Matt? Who knows? I'm the queen of hating characters in the first season of a show, only for them to end up as my favorites.

Okay, so my leaning towards skin cancer wasn't crazy. I wish we'd gotten a more concrete diagnosis! Agreed. I wasn't super into it. But I LOVE Kris and Wildfire being a team so, I'm cool with it 🤷♀️

I always assumed that Dani had some questionable cells that might have been cancer and she got the laser therapy to get rid of them. My guess is she was concerned it was skin cancer but that's just my assumption. This Wildfire sick/food pellet storyline isn't my favorite but I do love seeing how dedicated Kris is to Wildfire.
