The Vampire Diaries 2X3: Bad Moon Rising
🕑 Added 2024-10-01 18:00:10 +0000 UTCOkay, so, we've got Alaric, Elena, and Damon going to Isobel's old office to look for information on werewolves (or any other supernatural references to Mystic Falls they might find). Elena isn't crazy about taking this trip with Damon, especially without Stefan, but she really wants to look for information on Katherine, so she goes. Stefan, meanwhile, is staying behind since Caroline is still a new vampire and she's not having the easiest time right now.
They are met at Duke by Isobel's research assistant, who immediately recognizes Elena but thinks she's Katherine and shoots at her with a crossbow. Damon jumps in front of her and takes the stake in the back for her.
Eventually, they find out that werewolves do exist (Damon was sure they didn't) but have been hunted to near extinction by vampires because a single bite from a werewolf is fatal to vampires. Elena calls Stefan to let him know to be careful, and while on the phone, he loses Caroline. He finds her chomping down on Matt's neck. He had cut himself, and she was unable to resist tasting it, and that progressed to a full on meal. Stefan helps her get under control, and they Caroline compels him to not remember. Just as this is happening, Mason, the werewolf is on the loose and Stefan and Caroline try to draw him away from an injured Matt. However, Mason attacks Caroline but is stopped by Tyler who orders him to stop, and he does. Later, Mason confirms to Tyler that he is the werewolf.
Anyway, back in Duke, the trio is leaving, and Damon shows Elena a book about Katherine that he swiped from the office for her. He asks if their friendship truly is over, and she simply thanks him for the book. Once they get back to Mystic Falls, Elena asks him if she knew that Jeremy was wearing the ring. Damon confesses that he didn't know. He just got lucky. But he does seem genuinely apologetic, and asks for forgiveness. Elena tells him that he has, in fact, lost her as a friend forever. I don't think that's true though. Damon somehow manages to always worm his way back in. Although, that might make for an angry Damon next episode though, which is fun.
At the end of the episode, Katherine shows up. She's in Caroline's room with she wakes up, and tells her they are going to have so much fun together. Dude. Bonnie will un-spell that ring in a heartbeat if you go on some kind of rampage with Katherine.

I'm so behind on these and I haven't even finished the reaction yet but Caroline was intentionally jealous and dramatic so that Matt would break up with her. He told her that was a breaking point and so she used it so she could keep him safe. Edit: And now I just saw the comment section for next episode lol.

Stefan and caroline are my fave charecters so I love when there on screen together
