Yes, this was not the most exciting OTH episode ever, but I enjoyed most of it for what it was. I'm glad that we continue to get a look in at Nathan being okay with his retirement from the NBA because it was on his terms as opposed to his back injury during S5. And it's a trade-off, because while healthy, I'm sure that he'd still love to be playing, but if he was playing, then he'd also be missing out on a lot of family time like taking Jamie trick-or-treating, which he was thrilled to be able to do this year, so his feelings are not in a vacuum. He's struggling with what to do next, while at the same time, beyond happy that he's home with his family and not missing out on important milestones. Even though it was tame, and no real drama, it was still nice to see everyone dressed up at Tric for Halloween, and yes Brooke as that adorable orange was beyond cute, and I laughed out loud at Julian the Dalmatian and his mother Cruella de Vil, lol. So damn funny, hehe. We also were introduced to Sylvia....who appears to have somewhat of a drinking problem, and we get some insight into the dysfunction that Julian grew up in. We already know about the relationship between him and his dad Paul, and so now we get to see the dynamic between him and his mother, which is most definitely intriguing. Especially considering she wants to take over all the wedding planning, lol. And Clay and Quinn are still struggling both separately with their trauma and recovery, and we'll see if Quinn going away to South Africa is going to help her or not? Thought it was funny that Naley hated those cute couple costumes, lol, so Haley picked out a Mad Men outfit for Nathan (too perfect because James so rocks a suit, hehe) and Haley went as herself in high school (a pregnant cheerleader, lol). Julian not being able to high five will never not be funny, lol, and I adored that Naley scene at the end with Jamie passed out on the floor with his bag of candy, and Nathan rewatching his final four game between Maryland and Duke because Troy Jameson (the Arkansas QB who is holding out) told him that if he ever needed a reminder of how great he was, that's the game to watch. So, Haley coming in to sit down with him to quiz him about his choice, was so poignant when Nathan reveals that he wonders if he'll ever find something to be great at again? And Haley reassures him that she's not worried about that with him. When she tells him to turn it up...let's finish the game, and Nathan replies with we already know how it ends, and Haley says, the game, not the rest of it.... that just about sums things up perfectly for Nathan and his family, and I couldn't love it more. That scene between Naley was everything. James and Joy owned it big time!!!
