This is met with fierce opposition from Athena, who recruits Amir to help uplift him. Initially willing, Amir storms out after seeing how good of a life Bobby has built following the Minnesota fire.
Meanwhile, Buck encounters Kim at the firehouse and confronts Eddie about it, prompting Eddie to confess to Kim about Shannon. Kim later shows up with her hair styled like Shannon’s and induces an outpouring of festered feelings from Eddie about his late wife. The two hug just as Christopher and Marisol enter.
At the same time, in an act of revenge against Hen for her son’s death, Councilwoman Ortiz cancels Mara's adoption hearing; after Hen confronts her, she strips the Wilsons of their foster license and has Mara removed from their household.
Later, after being taunted by his father in a dream, Bobby awakes to his house on fire. He saves Athena before suffering a heart attack.

i remember watching this episode live and it felt nonstop. the drama was drama-ing. had to use the commercial breaks to catch my breath. the finale is so meh compared to this episode. i still get teary at that montage of bobby saying his goodbyes to the 118 and leaving them all with something. i felt bad for kim in the scene when eddie came clean and then she pulled that weird shit with the bangs and pretending to be shannon. i know she was trying to help in her own way but it was kinda crazy and even worse showing up unannounced when he has a child and she looks like his dead mother. poor mara! and denny and hen and karen. this story makes me so angry. that councilwoman’s son refused care and then died. hen did nothing wrong and doing all this is hurting mara most of all. it’s just not fair.
