🕑 Added 2024-12-19 22:28:53 +0000 UTCSo Bobby ended up having a heart attack from smoke inhalation. And the police seem convinced that it's arson. Meaning, both Athena and I are on the hunt for Amir. Going through some unofficial channels (i.e. Maddie), she manages to find out where he lives and pulls a gun on him as soon as he gets home.
She's insistent that he set the fire. He's insistent that he didn't. However, once she tells him she's bringing him down to the station to sort it all out, the cartel show up. Turns out, they were the ones who torched the house. And, now they want Amir. He goes amicably while Athena calls the cops. But they are, like, 14 minutes out, so Athena handles shit herself.
They've got Amir handcuffed and tied to a chair. And are planning to pay him back for killing this guys son (which Amir had nothing to do with). But just as they are about to stab him, Athena causes a disturbance and they all go to look for the source. She grabs one of the guys and holds a gun to his head. Just before this, she's tossed gasoline around and lights a match. The place goes up instantly flushing everyone outside where the cops are waiting. Athena helps Amir out, and then gets the call that Bobby is awake.
Shortly after, the all head back to work only to find out that Bobby (in his retirement, that he didn't tell anyone about) has been replaced with Gerrard who everyone hates. Bobby fully expected to get his job as captain back, so he's as surprised as everyone else.
Meanwhile, Christopher is so upset with Eddie, that he decides to move to Texas with his grandparents. Maddie and Chim become an emergency placement for Mara so she can stay near Karen and Hen and out of the group home. And it seems like Buck is still dating Tommy, but we don't get to see much of him.

Right? I'm sure there will be zero repercussions for her pulling a gun on guy. Not to mention, a guy whose home she broke into! I know. I was really hoping that Buck would be able to sway Christopher at the last minute. I'm hopefully that he'll be back by S8 though. He has friends here, and generally seems to like his life. I'd be surprised if a 13 year old wanted to be away from his friends for that long. I'm also surprised that Eddie just let him go. I, mean, I get the reasoning, but I would have though (because of what you said about his parents) that it would have been more of a fight. Yes! I also love that Denny came out hold Jee's hand. Subtly showing Mara that Jee is good people and she can trust her.

i love athena but the way she abuses her power as a cop will always make me crazy and she never faces any consequences for it. like how has she not been fired yet? i know the show is about first responders so they don’t want to fully get rid of the cop element but i would love it if they did. let her do something else going forward. christopher leaving with his grandparents upsets me because they have repeatedly tried to take chris from eddie. back when he first wanted to leave for la in eddie begins they were telling him to let chris stay with them (“don’t drag him down with you, eddie”) and then immediately after shannon died, they only came to town to try to convince eddie to go back again. like these people only have one goal in life and that’s to take chris to texas with them and they finally got their way and i’m so annoyed about it. but yay at least some good did happen with chim and maddie emergency fostering mara. i thought it was so sweet that mara first ran to denny. 😭
