One Tree Hill 9X2: In the Room Where You Sleep
🕑 Added 2025-01-03 23:50:05 +0000 UTCOkay, my biggest complaint right now, is that there are way too many characters. And they are taking away from the storylines I can about. I don't need anything else from the following characters: Millie, Mouth, Alex, Chase, Chuck, and Chris Keller. Please focus mostly on these characters: Nathan, Haley, Jamie, Dan, Brooke, Julian, Clay and Quinn. Thank you.
So Dan is staying at the house, and Jamie is beyond thrilled. But, he's not stupid. He realizes that neither of his parents are happy about this and is waiting for the shoe to drop. But, Dan is being perfectly respectful and trying not to throw Nathan or Haley under the bus when he tells Jamie he has to leave. However, at the end of the episode he tells Jamie (with a patented Dan smirk) that he's not going anywhere.
Since Clay has continued sleepwalking, Nathan has decided that he needs to go to Europe in his place. Haley is upset, but once she finds out the reason, she understands. Clay goes to a doctor and when the doctor suggests a psychiatrist, he balks. He's happy to try medication, but for whatever reason, he refuses to see someone. You'd think that after Quinn ends up picking him up from the police station in the morning that would change his mind, but nope. I have no idea why he's being so stubborn about this. And now, he's not even taking the medicine anymore. This is going to get ugly fast, but I don't really know where we're going here.
I want to kill Brooke's parents. All Brooke wants is two parents who love her unconditionally. It's not a lot to ask. And she's such an easy person to love. Her heart is so big. But instead, they act like assholes and vie for her love just to piss off the other. (Okay, this is only partially true, but I'm mad at both of them right now).
Chase decides he loves Alex and wants her to move in with him. But, instead of asking her, steals her keys from her purse and he Chuck move all her stuff into his apartment. This is not okay. You do not do this. I don't care if you love her or not. This is 100% something that needs to be discussed. Also, while this is happening, Alex is in the studio with Chris and he tells her she needs to go on tour. She says no, but as the episode goes along, she warms up to the idea, and decides to go. But now she's sort of living with Chase?
Mouth gained some weight and Millie can't talk to him about it. This is their storyline right now.
However, I'm really looking forward to get some Dan back this season. I'm really, really ready for some OG Dan bullshit. We've gone way too long without some crazy trauma drama. Lol.

(1)What you said last episode about whether or not Dan is being manipulative is confirmed in this episode in my opinion. The way that after Jamie says "They can't make you leave right?" Dan says "Yes they can" after he stares daggers at Nathan. Jamie wasn't born yesterday. He's also an exceptionally bright child. Also I think any child would have caught that drift. It's so fucking manipulative. Dan might as well have stared Jamie in the eyes and said "your mommy and daddy are kicking me out, boy". That puts Nathan and Haley in a difficult position and could potentially force their hands with allowing Dan to stay. (2) I totally support your hatred of Chris Keller. Keep that feeling. Just cause he's funny doesn't make him a good guy. I too will never forgive Chris for the way that he acted in S2. Mind you Chris was an adult (out of high school) who preyed upon a minor (Haley). He has made so many creepy comments about being into cheerleaders and then approached a group of cheerleaders in a high school and made creepy comments as an adult BTW. He also had sex with Brooke when she was in high school and he was an adult. Chris is such a pedo and still is so horrible to women and constantly harasses them. Chris is unforgivable. I will admit to laughing at some of his lines but the dude is unforgivable. I can't help that the writers at times gives him funny lines but he still sucks! (3) I think the whole thing with Dan and Nathan is so fascinating and I think it's really illustrated well in that scene with Nathan and Haley when Haley says "I don't know what to do. I used to see Keith every day. And I loved him. But Dan saved our son's life, and he protected you from Renee. And he's your father." and then Nathan says "You saw Keith every day. I lived with Dan every day." and I think that really illustrates how for Haley just about all of her hatred at this point is wrapped up in what Dan did to Keith. For Nathan it so much more complicated and difficult to forgive because he was abused by Dan both verbally, physically, and emotionally. We know that he's been physically abusive towards Nathan because Nathan told that story in S1 about how when he was in little league or something like that, Dan grabbed him by the arms and kicked so hard that he would have gone flying had Nathan's arms not been grabbed. We also saw him grab Nathan and push him against lockers. The physical component is something that doesn't get talked about a lot. People agree that Dan was verbally or emotionally abusive but so many people forget that he was also physically abusive. Not just physically tough but abusive. He also saw his mother being at least verbally abused by his father. Yes, he hates him for murdering Keith but it's also so much more.
