The Fosters 2X1: Things Unknown
🕑 Added 2025-03-24 18:00:08 +0000 UTCOMG. I hate this so much. And the worst part is that this is probably something that actually happens in real life. Let's rip Callie from this house where she is loved, cared for, and feels safe, to go to a house where she gets locked into a room at night because of bullshit technicalities. But, let's leave kids who are getting abused in those houses because, you know, the system sucks.
So a social worker shows up at the house tells Lena and Stef that their foster license has expired, which means Callie has to get removed (I think I've made my feelings on this clear above, but I fucking hate this) from the house. Lena and Stef try to argue, but there is no changing this woman's mind, even if she feels bad about it, she's still got a job to do. She doesn't make these bullshit rules, she just needs to follow them so she doesn't lose her job.
Callie pretends to be okay with the situation so that Jude doesn't freak out. He's planning to go with her, but she talks him out of it. Either way, Callie is not pleased (how could she be), but she goes along with it. At first the lady seems fine, but then she locks Callie in her room at night since she's a 'flight risk.'
Stef spends the entire next day sitting in the waiting room of the courthouse waiting to talk to a judge to get an emergency foster stay so they can get Callie back in the house. But the judge ends up leaving before she can talk to him. Again. Fucking bullshit. This kid has a family who fucking wants her. And loves her. Why are you assholes making this so fucking hard? Eventually, Stef tracks down the judge and does manage to get Callie back home, but this was so much more difficult than it needed to be. Fuck. Can you tell I'm angry about this?
Once Callie is back home, she tells Lena and Stef that while she didn't care to find her father before (she figured 18 was close and she would just get adopted when she was an adult) she cannot be constantly yanked from the house without any notice. So now the plan is to try to find her birth father and get him to give up his rights so they can officially adopt her.
But, it turns out, her dad seems to know exactly who (and where) she is. She's gotten a job with Daphne (I learned her name!) at the hamburger place and dad comes in to order food. And it seems like he knows who Callie is. Plus, when he leaves we get a flashback (maybe?) or a daydream by dad (I'm not sure what's happening here) of him being in the car with a slightly younger looking Callie. Either way, it's pretty clear this is her dad and he knows who she is.
In other news, Mariana is blonde now. I hate it. I just doesn't look good on her. But, I generally think most people look better with darker hair. (It's why I dyed my hair black for so long). However, Stef is annoyed about it. It's hair, mom. It'll be fine. I do hate the fact that it seems like she is doing this to fit in though. She's such an adorable human. It makes me sad that she doesn't see herself that way.
I also hate that Dani is trying to manipulate Brandon into not telling his dad that he slept with her because it might jeopardize his sobriety. What is with this woman? Why is she like this? Does she think she's still in high school? That said, I 100% think Mike should be told. Usually in situations like this, I feel like it's just going to hurt everyone and help no one, so keep your mouth shut. But, if your teenage son had sex with your girlfriend, this is a completely different situation. Mike needs to ditch this woman. (I mean he did, but it didn't take, so I guess he needs to try again). I'm sure if Brandon told him what happened, that would seal the deal, but I have no idea if that will happen.
Oh, and we also find out that Mike was the person arguing with Ana before she went missing. And he ended up home with all that blood on his hands. Literally. I feel like maybe this is a red herring, but I'm still intrigued.

I hate they generally don't do much when there is a kid in a abusive home but will not stop at the opportunity to take away a kid who is in a nice and caring home like Callie is with The Fosters. And hate that she ended up missing Judes event because of it but atleast she got to hear it when she got home. That girl at the end in the car did really look like Callie though. When i watch Marianna i feel for her because alot of teenagers do have this want and need to fit in with people who may not even like them and will change their looks, personalities and features in order to do so and i just wish that she knew how special she was and that she shouldn't have conform so racist school girls with superiority complexes would like her more. I know it's easier said than done.

it's the way Dani is trying to manipulate Brandon into feelig guilty and not tell anyone about the fact that she took advantage of a drunk child by using his dad's issues as a pawn is messed up beyond belief.
