Housekeeping Russia-Ukraine Flash Report 06 OCT 2022
🕑 Added 2022-10-07 02:33:25 +0000 UTCNot going to be a Situation Report tonight. I'm going to take advantage of a relatively quiet day on the battlefront (not much information released - Russians did captured Vesela Dolyna south of Bakhmut after 2-1/2 months of trying).
Biden's comment tonight that we've never been closer to nuclear Armageddon than since the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis is hopefully hyperbole, considering Russian navy commanders were ordered to release nuclear weapons and refused. It is certainly an alarming statement and supports our analysis that we're in the Mutually Assured Destruction Instability Paradox.
There is a video circulating of two wounded Ukrainian soldiers alleging they were exposed to chemical weapons. First, we believe the video in question has circulated before. Second, the injuries are not consistent with the alleged chemical agent.
Ukraine is moving closer to Svatove, however the settlements other analysts are declaring liberated we covered yesterday.
I thank you for your understanding that I'm going to take advantage of a very quiet day to catch up on sleep and process the funeral today. If something big happens we'll do a flash report.

"Russians did captured Vesela Dolyna south of Bakhmut after 2-1/2 months of trying" - I'm not much of a Boy Scout and my map skills (especially when Cyrillic, Ukrainian and bastardized English spelling all differ) - but hasn't Bakhmut and the surrounding towns been "captured" by Russians for quite awhile? Or was there a Ukrainian Batstone I wasn't aware of?
