PLEASE DON’T TALK IN ALL CAPS

I've had enough of your facts and logic

I WAS A DEFENSE PHYSICIST FOR LONGER THAN I WILL ADMIT, I HAVE A HARD TIME BELIEVING BOLT ACTION RIFLES. MEANWHILE NATO STRANGLES UKRAINE FOR EQUIPMENT.

Do those old moisons even shoot straight any more? Or are the barrels and sites old and unserviced? Or does that matter at the ranges in question?

I saw weird videos (local news during the joyride) where Wagner troops were basically boasting of having more than one pair of shoes each. This now makes sense.

I was able to nail prairie dogs with my husband’s Sako bolt action, but they weren’t shooting back

There was an attack in Dachi almost two weeks ago were several Storm Z Penal soldiers had no shoes

In the hands of capable marksmen, a Moison-Nagant is an excellent weapon, bolt action or not. Personal view rooted in science/fact. Want to learn the secret of surviving on the battlefield? Math. That's it. The more I can lower the odds of a hot piece of flying metal hitting my soft squishy flesh, the better chance I have at surviving. I can improve my odds even in the face of flying metal using quality body armor, an effective helmet, and good training. But in the end, if my body is occupying a space where hot metal is traveling, I'm in trouble. If that hot metal is big enough and fast enough and hits the right place, I'm dead. The problem with troops on defense using Moison-Nagant rifles is they can't lay effective fire. That is - add more hot metal in the air aimed at soft flesh. While they're aiming to make an effective shot, they might have 10, 20, or 100 pieces of hot metal whizzing by them by the enemy combatant armed with a modern automatic assault weapon. If the person issued that bolt action rifle isn't trained to control their breathing, control their heart rate, clear their mind of all that hot metal flying around, and don't believe that their trench mates will defend them, they're not going to squeeze off an accurate shot. By the time they reload to fire the next one, the enemy has advanced another five or six meters firing more hot metal.

In the video from the report most of those poor men seem to be wearing regular sneakers or street shoes. Those must be among the worst equipped, but still...

Business suits? Tennis shoes? Bolt action rifles? Similar to the lever action Springfields and Winchesters Custer used in 1876?
