Editor's Note: After a two to three-week run of SITREPS that hasn't contained a lot of encouraging news, this is a well-earned read. We even got to throw a punch at the August 2022 Amnesty International report in today's report.
What's the big story? In the Orikhiv area of operation, Ukrainian forces are making territorial gains partially due to DPICM shredding Russian defensive positions and, after two months of grinding warfare, finally reaching the southern edge of Russian minefields.
What's the second story? The saga of the Private Military Company Wagner Group just won't go away. It appears that the future is cloudy for the mercenary organization with new information from the Council of Commanders.
Breaking News: Just as we were finishing the report for publication, Ukrainian officials announced there would be mandatory evacuations of more than 30 villages and towns in Kharkiv. This is not reflected in the published report.

- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a reduced format Stavka to discuss several topics, including “planning of future steps”
- Germany announced additional military aid had been provided to Ukraine
- Swedish company Satcube is providing Ukraine with “hundreds” of satellite Internet terminals
- The Council of Commanders for Private Military Company Wagner Group appeared to confirm the VChK-OGPU report that their mercenary forces are on “vacation” after a dispute between Moscow and Minsk on how the organization will continue to be paid
- Russian contract soldiers from Orenburg threaten to riot because they have not been paid
- Russian soldiers from the Karachay-Cherkessia Republic threaten to riot because they have not been paid
- Russian state media agency Izvetsia is caught creating propaganda – again
- Russian State Duma Vice Speaker Vyacheslav Davankov introduced a bill that would set the statute of limitation for prosecuting someone under the so-called “don’t say war” laws for opinions expressed on the Internet to 60 to 90 days
- Roskomnadzor has blocked at least ten Internet VPNs to control Russian citizen’s access to information
- Forbes reported that Russia had created a knock-off version of the French Catherine Thales thermal imager
- Kherson region former policeman Serhii Golovanych was arrested for beating and torturing Ukrainians during the Russian occupation
- The European Commission is expected to recommend that Ukraine and Moldova start the EU accession process
- Mexican officials dismissed social media claims that the nation was going to request to join BRICS
- Poland is appealing to the EU to streamline administrative and border processes so Ukrainian grain can be shipped through Baltic Sea ports faster
- One of Russia’s top economic professors declared that the rouble is in collapse

Oh I've expressed my thoughts multiple times - and broken journalistic standards in a caps rant a few weeks ago. I think it sucks. That's my personal view and does not represent an official statement from the organization. It sucks. It's inexcusable. It's ridiculous. If Ukraine had F-16, F-18, and A-10 right now the battlefield would be a different place. And even I, the lover of the Warthog, have hung my head and declared that the A-10 and the future of CAS is coming to an end due to drones. But the A-10 isn't just a big gun that goes brrrrtttt. It is low, slow, super maneuverable, has better electronics than the Su-25, and would provide Ukraine with desperately needed air-to-air weapons against Russian helos. Ya - that's where I'm going. A-10s targeting Ka-52s and Mi-24 on standoff with brrrrrttttt on targets of opportunity supported by F-16s on CAP and F-18s providing standoff close air support and using JDAM-ER glide bombs.

Thoughts regarding the Biden administration's slow-walking F-16s, ATACMS, GLSDBs. Consider the following - Russia argues that Crimea and parts of Ukraine are Russian - saying the the population wants to be with Russia (or at least not with Ukraine). The U.S. argues against the Russian position and supplies arms, but only enough to result in a stalemate and a negotiate settlement. So, we achieve almost the principle of sovereignty. Now, let's look at China and Taiwan. The U.S. (like Russia in the case of Ukraine) argues that Taiwan doesn't want to be part of the PRC. So, we now assume the Russian position, vis-a-vis Ukraine, and provide arms (even military action) to allow Taiwan to be independent of the PRC. The end result is that neither Ukraine nor China get full control of the "breakaway" territories. I personally believe that the U.S. should fully support Ukraine and maintain the principle of sovereignty. And then try to convince that the PRC that it would be too costly to try to take-over Taiwan - in that many lives would be lost and the territory would be in ruins...so that the best result is a prosperous Taiwan - perhaps with a no-travel policy with respect to the the straits This view violates the principle of sovereignty and the "one China" policy - Just trying to make sense of the "Nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine" slogan.
And Joe Biden just gave Iran, the country that is the responsible for the deaths of an untold number of Ukrainians, $6 billion dollars. God bless America.
