This is Report 454, which is 56 pages, and there is a lot that happened both on and off the battlefield.

What's the big story? Ukrainian forces made gains at Andriivka, Novomykhailivka, and Pryyutne, while the Russian Ministry of Defense admits that the advance they made west of Raihorodka is collapsing.
What's the second story? Russia pounds the Odesa port of Izmail on the Danube River hours after five ships ran their unofficial blockade.

Ok a bit of reading and I can answer some of my own question. - Storm Shadows fly at mach 0.95 which is slower than a modern fighter jet. They are a cruise missile and not a rocket. And so they could in theory be more easily intercepted by air defence systems -- if they're spotted in time. - ATACMS are rockets and travel a lot faster at Mach 3. - Storm Shadows fly lower and use a sophisticated navigation system to make them harder to jam and this might make them harder to intercept. - The Storm Shadow missile is programmed with every detail of the target and the path to be taken to reach the target prior to its launch. The missile follows a pre-programmed path at low level with the help of continuous updates from the onboard navigation system. It uses imaging infrared to compare the actual target area with stored imagery repeatedly until reaching the target - ATACMS fly on a ballistic trajectory, meaning they are shot up and then move on a curved path under the action of gravity - Storm Shadows must be fired from fighter jets - ATACMS are fired from HIMAR launchers Conclusion: the US must give Ukraine ATACMS!
I have a dumb/naive question. If Russia is not able to intercept Storm Shadows missiles then why isn't Ukraine striking the main rail and road hubs in the occupied territories more often to disrupt supply lines? The Russians repair bridges, railways and roads of course, but the ongoing disruptions would surely have big impacts. My guess is that Ukraine simply doesn't have enough Storm Shadows to justify that strategy and needs to be more judicious in their use of such high value weaponry. If only there was an alternate weapon an ally could donate which would give them better options... A Russian army starved of ammunition can't put up much of a fight. Is it just too simplistic to think that more long range missiles would tip the balance significantly in Ukraine's favor?
