What's Happening
What's the big story? A week has gone by since Russia launched its three-brigade "active defense" of Avdiivka. Russian forces have made some marginal and tactical gains, but intensity is slowing down.
What's the second story? The Russian helicopter airbase north of Berdyansk, Zaporizhzhia, got hit by missiles and suffered significant damage.

- In Luhansk, Russian forces have shifted offensive operations to the areas north of Makiivka

The strike was carried out using ATACMS and GLSDB (Gremlins)

I was under the impression that we did not send ATACMS? This may just be me losing the thread on one of these weapons sagas. With the F-16s, I just have lost it. By now the word F-16 evokes a cloud of dates and contradicting statement from God knows how many countries for God knows how many months. So, did I miss the paragraph where it said we are ACTUALLY sending ATACMS?
Why the skepticism that ATACMS were used to strike the Berdyansk airfield? NYT and others are claiming ATACMS were used as it’s out of range of HIMARS. And not the typical target profile for a Storm Shadow. The strike is being called the most significant on Russian aviation since the start of the war, with 9 helicopters and an air defence launcher among the targets destroyed. And if this was ATACMS imagine their impact if they’d have been introduced much sooner….
