Hey Ero, What was the recommended settings that you've found? It would be amazing to remove that effect and have a smooth animation. Thanks!
McM
For whatever reason mine animation just wont loop. I do noise texture duplicated into a mix node and it just wont work for me. If anyone else has ran into this I'd appreciate any help

at the end u mentioned how your animation had a slight vibrating effect in the movement of the cells, my animation did not have that, i got a smooth transition between frames, im thinking it could be the render properties. i changed my properties to some recommended settings that i found in YT, so im thinking that could be it

for some reason i cant get this to animate on blender. i followed all the steps exactly the way you did it. any help figuring this out would be great

Amazing! I did all the details but IΒ΄m having some issues with the animation of metaballs. ItΒ΄s so fast.

I deleted my original comment to report on my metaball experiment. I found out that by parenting a metaball separately to the initial plane, then changing the plane's object settings (wrench menu) to instance on *vertices,* you can instance metaballs, and solve the geometry flicker problem. You don't need to switch to volume and back to mesh - these are actual metaballs! Unfortunately, it opens up a brand new problem. Metaballs don't have vertices and move freely when merging. So they do NOT stay centered on the points, and the inner black balls - which ARE locked to the points - will frequently duck in and out of the metaballs. I need to find a way to keep the metaballs from moving too far away from the vertices, or track the inner spheres to the metaballs' centers. Realizing the metaball instances just converts them to normal icospheres, and you're back where you started, without metaball behavior. Experiments continue.

Had a great time with this Ducky. Thank you!

The flicker is because the geometry is changing when it goes from volume to mesh. I tried a remesh modifier, but that killed the glass texture. :-(

Someone came up with the excellent idea of parenting a metaball to an empty and instancing the empty, and said that worked. I might have to experiment and see if that eliminates the geometry flicker.

Thx Ducky - cool stuff π learning never ends - hope u find a solution to get a total smoothness

I totally read this as Meatball first... Which I kind of want now. Any classy way to incorporate meatballs into concert visuals? π

I was looking for a way to create metaball-esque effect in geo-nodes, thanks! (I saw one tut on youtube that was a stream where he basically recreated SDF in geonodes to make the metaballs, but it kinda broke my brain.) Does it flicker even with like a non transparent material?
