Contrarian Opinion. Mom was devastated at what happened to her only son. She's coping in the only way she can handle. Specifically, ensure that no other minor is trapped in an unwanted body. She definitely needs counseling on how to communicate.

It's good to have characters you can hate and are just terrible people. There are some comics out there that suffer because the writer/artist can't handle making characters that are truly cruel.

This new law would’ve prevented exactly one of Stephanie’s 12 trades, so mom is clearly just looking to punish her (and by forcing her to be Stephanie for at least three more years, it’s pretty clear she’s said goodbye to ever getting Wyatt back)
