Even if they could file a class action lawsuit, it would be tied up for years in court. So, it seems they had better get used to being each other. And I think Morris is getting the better end of the deal.

Like there is a definite legal fight in their future, that is going to take way too long to resolve. At least to try to restore people who are in the same situation. But on the downside, they did actually use the technology to commit fraud. I'm not sure the pentality for what they did before the law kicked in. It's not the most severe instance. At the least, Ella would be expelled.

On reflection, civil rights lawyers would have a field day. First they would get an injunction against implementation of the ban, to give people like these two a chance to escape this fate. Swaps back would probably be logged for possible legal action against people they want to prosecute for fraud. So, do you want to be free, or in your own body?
