Ok, I see what I did to trigger panic. I'll probably rewrite that one panel. I know the dread of Flowers for Algernon, and I here I don't think we hit is because we do a lot of reminders that Steph still knows who she is. Even on this page. She knows what media she likes. But the cultural word she used for is different.

Yes. The previous page is still valid. She remembers and knows who she is. But more that all this new info is right at the tip of her tongue and her reflex. It's why she didn't immediately notice that she's saying the wrong words. She knows the right words, but isn't saying them.
