Developer Log #5
🕑 Added 2020-07-31 14:58:55 +0000 UTCNumber 5 already! Where does the time go?! In this week's log I'm going to talk a little about what to expect in Chapter Two: Part One.
Before I get to the meat of this update, a couple of news items:
The poll for the bonus scene is now closed and I will be detailing what it will include in an upcoming Dev update.
The poll for Kimiko's hair colour is still on going and (as of typing) the Flame style is in the lead. I of course in no way wish to influence anyone's vote (you can still change your mind) however here's a different view...
I have no preference, but I did spend around 40 minutes colouring this hair.
Usual warning applies, mild spoilers ahead, so if you want to go into the chapter blind - give this log a skip for now.
For those who want to know how the story will progress - read on.
The chapter will open with you in hospital, you will have the fallout of not only the events at the end of chapter one to content with, but there will be the relationship conflict that will need to be resolved in this part as well.
Speaking of relationships, depending on the path you took in the first chapter you will either continue to build, or reduce the relations with Louise. A new character will be introduced - Danielle, who will be playing the support nurse during your convalescence - how close that support is depends on you.
The eagle eyes will have spotted an early introduction to Danielle in Ch1.
Additionally, you will be able to continue to build your relationship with Cindy. Depending on your choices she will divulge a lot more of her back story. All is not as it seems and her appearance hints at something more at Purple Orchid!
Overall part one will be quite dark in its themes, I have used artistic license to shorten the length of time between events. However, to ignore the feelings of characters would be, I feel, an injustice to the story, and an insult to the intelligence of the player.
The chapter is dark, its subtitle is 'Descent' and its quote is one of madness. No matter the path you play I want all players to feel a sense of hope by the end of part one, ready to meet the challenges that the second part of chapter two will bring.
Next week in the development update I will go into more detail about where I am at with the update and I will try to gauge a very loose ETA on its release.

I dunno, some of those outfits she wears for the MC are pretty suggestive! Wait till you see what's lined up in ch2 :) I think a lot of players focus in on Sebastian and his attitude towards Louise, From her perspective, she has to balance her career with her family life and we don't always get that right.

haha, tbh, I'm a bit torn when it comes to Louise. I think no matter the path the MC takes for the first chapter, she's still more into Sebastian than the MC. The whole going out to dinner with him instead of her family, etc...I mean if my wife pulled what Louise has done, I'd be suspicious as hell...still don't get why the MC never questions the outfits she wears for Sebastian on their "dates".
