I used to feel the same way about Vicki, but eventually, I saw how tragic her life was. The necklace's purpose was to find Bonnie. At first, when Damon answers Stefan's phone call, he resorts to sarcasm, but once Stefan says he needs his help, Damonβs facial expression changes to concern. There is still a residual of love among the brothers.

Tragic episode.. Wish Vicki had been able to control herself as she was an interesting human turned vampire & I think had a lot of potential. You're right that this show has a lot of irl dilemmas it depicts well like concern over a struggling family member.
