Even on first watch of this series, I couldn't take to Lexi and wondered why everyone thought she was such an amazing likeable character. She's rude and violent towards Damon in his own home. She's controlling of Stefan deciding they're going to the party even though he doesn't want to go. Damon clearly dislikes her. Whether or not that is because of her attitude to him or because of her pushy ways with his brother isn't clear. I hated that Damon did what he did but he couldn't just stand by and let her attack Liz either. I understand Stefan's anger but Elena is right when she tries to calm him down and prevent him from doing something he will regret. I so love that Damon is sitting right across from Liz telling her he'll help expose the vampires in any way he can. I agree with Jenny that Elena is really annoying at times.

DraconeKaiju Covenant

It'd of been really hard to forgive Damon for this if he wasn't such a compelling, fun and useful character later on. His presence feels integral to the cast. Lexi was fantastic here and in the later episode where she appears as a flashback. She showed the best of how a vampire can be.
