Damon was my favourite from day one too!

My favorite character from start to finish has always been Damon. I just enjoy that his character is so complex and has so many layers.. he has some of the best character development and stories in this show. Plus his relationships and dynamics with other characters in the show are some of my favorites. i also like how he never tries to play the “hero” or act “good”, he knows he is flawed, doesnt pretend he is someone he isnt, he just does what he thinks is right and never tries to justify his actions to others. If he does something good or selfless for someone, he doesnt try to let them know so they can appreciate him or be grateful. Similarly when people misunderstand him or dont know the full truth of his actions and accuse him wrongly, he just accepts his flaws and their judgement without trying to justify himself or correct them. Not saying that Damon hasnt done horrible things and my appreciation of his character does not mean i morally condone his actions in reality (this is fiction so let me enjoy it lol) but all characters in the show especially the vampires have all done horrible things yet many of them like to portray themselves as moral and righteous.
