As I mentioned in my last update, the video should drop within the next couple of days "presuming everything goes according to plan".
Well, everything has not gone according to plan. Some of the scenes in this video are taking FAR longer to render than expected. All the 3D animation scenes were rendered weeks ago and are typically the slowest to render. However, a few non-3D scenes in this video are taking 40+ seconds to render a single frame.
That's 40 seconds of render-time for every frame of video, and the video runs at 60 frames per second. That's 40 minutes of render-time for every second of video. The scenes vary in length but some of them are roughly 30 seconds long. That's 20 hours of render-time per scene. In other words, some of these scenes are taking nearly a full day to render.
This was quite unexpected. It rarely takes more than a few seconds to render each frame. Sometimes less than a second. So 40+ seconds per frame is highly unusual.
As such, it is difficult to estimate a release date but the video will likely be online sometime before the end of next week. Presuming everything goes according to plan, that is.
All we can do now is wait...
