Chain and Collar

This something I've been fiddling with for a couple of weeks now.
How does the chain look? I ended up using a brush and drawing on top of it for extra detail but I wonder if it's too stiff looking. Like there isn't a sense of weight. Works fine for a little comic like this, but I dunno about a more detailed illustration. Will also be useful for the Demon Basil illustration I'm working on.

Oh fuuuccckkk- it looks really good- like WEAK in the knees good (Also, there's a lot of references on how to make brushes if you wanted to make a chain brush w/ your lineart? But I think it looks really good!)

If you are worried about it looking too much like a brush, you could always use the brush as a reference and draw the chain on top on a new layer... if that helps! I didn't really notice it all that much until you mentioned it was a brush though. PatienceMakesArt's point on making a U shape seems good too!
Because of the chain flowing down, it doesn’t read that dandy is standing above him, I would maybe have it coming up at the end in a U shape? Otherwise it looks really good! I didnt think it was a brush at first. And the second panel looks great!
