I’m with Jamie, they already both know that this would sit with them forever, there was nothing more to speak about — she’s decided that justice is worth more than being DA knowing you got it at the expense of an innocent man’s jailing.

Leaning a hair toward the DA being there to signal that she's going to try to fix this. She's realized that it was not worth an innocent man's entire life. And that's probably why the public defender "was it worth it" scene comes first. It's definitely not real clear though. The torment will go on - that is for sure
