Personal Update
🕑 Added 2022-09-04 18:50:12 +0000 UTCIts been a minute, huh? Well, personal trials never cease. August 2022 may have been one of the worst months I've endured to date. Without getting too deep into things, its enough to say my dog passed away just over a month ago from cancer diagnosed in October 2021. We don't have much time with pets as it is, and Karen was loved thoroughly by so many during the too-short time she was on Earth. The loss was sudden even though we'd known it was coming. This is the most upsetting of several things that've happened over the last six weeks, which have impacted my ability to do much aside from the necessary tasks of working, sleeping, eating. I have picked up a pencil sporadically, and I do have sketches to share as well as some pages I'd worked on just before everything happened. I'll share these with you all as I find the time to. Everyone has been so patient and kind. I'm so fortunate to have had the love of my dog for the years we did share, and the love of everyone else who knew her and knows the pain of her absence.
As the days pass I hope it gets easier to smile when remembering her, rather than the stark lack I feel when I open doors to find nothing where she should be instead.
Spend some time with your animals today, and take special note of the moment. You'll need the memory someday.

I don't know what to say other than my condolences to you. Pets are so special and it hurts when one has to leave us. But remembering the happier times will eventually outweigh the sadness you feel. It'll just take some time.
